Once again this year, Knoxville will host a New Year's Eve celebration on Market Square.
While many of the businesses on the square will be hosting their own celebrations that may be geared more towards adults, the city's party will be family friendly. Starting at 1 pm, the Holidays on Ice skating rink will be open. You can also find festival foods and face painting at the ice rink, which closes at midnight.
More vendors will set up booths, selling roasted peanuts and making balloon animals, from 5- 9 pm.
Music on the Square, with piped-in music and large screens displaying photographs of 2013 highlights, begins at 11 p.m.
The countdown to 2014 starts at 11:59 p.m., with the ball drop at midnight, along with fireworks and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
