(WBIR - Knoxville) A gas leak forced a building-wide evacuation Wednesday at the Old Knoxville Courthouse in Downtown Knoxville.

The first calls went out around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. The Knoxville Police Department, the Knoxville Fire Department, and KUB responded.

A KFD spokesperson told WBIR gas levels got up to about 11%, which is dangerous to breathe after a period of time. Crews evacuated about 35-40 people inside the building, and no injuries were reported.

Officials shut the gas off to the building, and are letting the wind dissipate it now.
