Hundreds of bricks saved from the McClung Warehouses will be given to historic preservation group Knox Heritage.
Demolition crews have worked for the past several days to tear the buildings down piece by piece. That comes after a second large fire left behind only one damaged building and it was in danger of collapsing.
Knox Heritage plans to sell the salvaged bricks as a fundraiser to support its endangered properties fund.
City officials say the demolition is almost finished, so they've allowed employees of a nearby business to return to their building.
