A street that's been closed all month since a massive fire at the McClung warehouses reopened Thursday afternoon.

Jackson Avenue, between Gay and Henley Streets, reopen to traffic at 4 pm. It's been off limits since the February 1 fire for safety reasons. What's left of those historic warehouses have now been demolished.

The road is open to two lanes of traffic, the same as before the fire.

The road is also back open to pedestrians. City crews plan to make repairs to the sidewalk in the coming weeks. It was damaged during efforts to fight the fire.
