University of Tennessee students got to hear from a former ambassador to the Middle East on Wednesday.
Cameron Munter was an ambassador in Pakistan from 2010 to 2012. Munster delivered the semi-annual Ashe Lecture at the Baker Center's Toyota Auditorium. Munter also served in at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and was an Ambassador in Belgrade.
Wednesday, he voiced his opinion on the situation in Ukraine.
"I think what President Putin has done is sacrificed the idea that his Eurasian union could be attractive to other people," he said. "I think that even though this is a very dangerous time and we have to be very careful to stand up for what we think is important and to avoid an incident. I think the big loser is going to be President Putin."
Munter is now a professor of international relations at Ponoma College in Claremont California.
