(WBIR) The Knoxville Utilities Board says the cost of repairing a massive water main break in downtown Knoxville earlier this month is more than $100,000.
A water main broke overnight on April 2, blowing an 18-foot hole at the intersection of State and Main streets. The incident cut off water to several downtown buildings.
KUB said it spent $132,000 to fix the break. About a quarter of that total cost ($32,000) went toward labor, while KUB spent the majority on materials and contractor fees.
