(WBIR-Knoxville) It's time to stop, look left, right, then left again for "National Stop on Red Week".

The campaign kicked off Sunday with the Knoxville police reminding people that traffic cameras operate 24-hours a day.

Those cameras take pictures of every vehicle that pulls up to those intersections.

KPD decides whether or not to ticket the driver.

The police says the number of accidents and tickets at red-light intersections are dropping thanks to safety programs like this one.
