Students at Holston Middle School now have a new tool to use at school. All students received a new MacBook Pro laptop Wednesday.

Holston Middle is the latest school that's taking part in a pilot technology program. It's aimed at keeping students plugged in while in class, giving them access to the most up to date information and helpful classroom tools.

School officials say it will help tech-savy students incorporate tools they love into their learning.

"You can tell by their faces and their excitement how excited they are. They're ready to use this in the classroom. It's going to transform what we already do, but it will make them more engaged and motivated in learning," said Holston principal Ashley Jessie.

School officials say the computers will not replace textbooks. But they say the students will likely use the computers every day.
