An early morning house fire injures two people including a fire fighter.
Around 2:30 Wednesday morning Knoxville Fire Fighters were called to a house fire on the 28-hundred block of Martin Luther King Junior Avenue.
When fire fighters arrived smoke was coming up from an upstairs bedroom.
The two men living inside the home made it out. One was taken to UT medical center for non-life threatening burns to his head.
A fire fighter suffered a minor injury also when charred debris fell into his eye.
Fire fighters were eventually get the fire under control. Investigators say the cause of the fire was radiant heat from a portable electric heater too close to combustible items inside an upstairs bedroom.
Fire fighters say it is very important to keep a three foot open air radius around any source of heat.
