A Knoxville firefighter who suffered a heart attack while responding to a house fire late Tuesday night is in critical condition at UT Medical Center.
Captain Mark Lacey collapsed while battling a blaze in East Knoxville on New Year's Eve. He was rushed to the hospital where he is in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
Lacey has been a Knoxville firefighter for about 20 years. He is also a husband and a father. KFD Spokesman Captain DJ Corcoran say the fire department is asking for prayers for Lacey and his family.
