Update Thursday 11:45 a.m.:
The Knoxville Police officer hurt in a Tuesday evening crash, when his cruiser flipped, has been released from the hospital.
KPD says Officer Christopher Hutton was treated and released overnight from UT Medical Center.
He was driving down Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue with lights and sirens on in his cruiser when a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Elbert Brabson, entered the intersection and collided with the officer's vehicle.
Brabson was taken to UT Medical Center for minor injuries. He was released and taken into custody on two outstanding warrants for failure to obey court orders.
A third vehicle then crashed into the first two vehicles.
KPD says all three drivers were wearing their seat belts.

KPD says the officer was driving down Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue just before 7 p.m. with lights and sirens on when another vehicle entered an intersection and collided with the cruiser.
Officers say a third car then crashed into the vehicles.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were also taken to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
A police investigation is underway.
