(WBIR) Officials released the suspects' names accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in east Knoxville Easter morning.
Knoxville police said they received a call at about 3:40 p.m. Sunday, reporting people in two vehicles shooting at each other on Jefferson Avenue.
When an officer caught up with one of the vehicles, a black SUV, a high-speed chase started, which continued into the Holston Hills area. Eventually the driver, Travis Mack, 22, of Knoxville drove the SUV into the river.
Police arrested Mack along with the passenger, Jeremy Edwards, 18, of Knoxville.
Mack is facing the following charges: evading arrest, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, among other charges. Edwards is facing a drug free school zone violation among other charges.
(WBIR) A vehicle led police on a high speed pursuit Sunday afternoon after reports of two vehicles exchanging gunfire.
KPD officers said they received a call around 3:40 p.m. of two vehicles shooting at each other on Jefferson Avenue. An officer caught up with one of the vehicles, a black SUV, which was going a high rate of speed.
Authorities said the vehicle led police on a high speed pursuit that led into the Holston Hills area, before the suspects drove the car into the river.
Police took two men into custody.
Authorities are investigating.
