An East Knoxville night club is closed Thursday after claims of illegal gambling, drug sales and other crimes.

A judge determined that the Bottoms Up Lounge on East Magnolia Street had become a public nuisance.

The state says the club's owner was running an illegal gambling operation, selling drugs and selling alcohol without a permit. There have also been police reports citing several violent incidents dating back to September of last year.

The injunction also reports gang activity and that the club's owner, Rodney Bennett, is a known gang member.
