Governor Haslam has launched a new project to help Tennessee veterans get higher education. It's part of his "Drive to 55" campaign, an attempt to raise the number of Tennesseans who have education beyond high school.

Currently, only 32 percent of Tennesseans have reached that level. The governor wants to raise that to 55 percent by 2025.

Governor Haslam formed a task force that will look at how the state can help veterans get a certificate or degree.

In June, the panel will meet with education leaders and veterans to discuss possibilities.
