You've probably heard of the New Years tradition of the Polar Bear Plunge; swimmers do it all over the world. They get together and jump in to a freezing cold lake or the ocean.
Cumberland Gap has a similar tradition, dating back 13 years. They don't have much water-- just a little creek off the front porch off the Little Congress Bicycle Museum.
So instead of a plunge, they call it a dip.
The dip is open to anyone, so mark your calendars for next year. January 1st at high noon, Cumberland Gap, Tennessee.
