A Florida man will be brought to Tennessee to face charges that he had sex with a teenage girl.
According to the TBI, an investigation into an improper relationship between James Abernathy, 41, and a 16-year-old Fentress County girl began in June 2012, after authorities received a tip from social media.
More than a year later, in September 2013, a Fentress County grand jury indicted Abernathy on two counts of Aggravated Statutory Rape and one count of Solicitation of a Minor.
Abernathy was living in Fort Myers, Florida. On Tuesday, US Marshals arrested Abernathy. He's currently in the Lee County Jail in South Florida, awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
