A former volunteer fire captain is facing charges for stealing a truck that was meant for the department.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested Michael Nicholas of Jamestown on Thursday. He was a captain at the Fentress County Fire Department.
Last September, the Fentress County school board donated a truck to the department. Nicholas registered the truck in his own name instead of the department's.
Investigators later found Nicholas traded the truck to another person for personal gain.
A grand jury indicted Nicholas for one count of theft over $1,000.
