An 11th grade student at South Doyle High School has organized a 5K race to get school supplies for children in the Dominican Republic.

Cassidy Giles is an 11th grade student at South Doyle High School where she runs cross country and track.
Two mission trips to the Dominican Republic inspired her to find a way to help the children there so she will host the One Vision 5K race Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the One Vision Office, 3508 Maryville Pike.
There is no entry fee for the Knoxville Youth Athletics event. Runners need to bring school supplies instead.
Needed items include: pencil boxes, stickers, #2 yellow pencils, pencil sharpener, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks, composition notebooks, and construction paper.
