Many people like to reminisce about the past, to get that feeling of nostalgia. Well it's not just a feeling. It happens to be the name of two stores in Knoxville that allow customers to go back in time.
Amie Bolin got the idea for Nostalgia while trying to sell some of her own items.
"Originally I went into an antique store and it didn't work for me. I didn't really fit in so when I started looking around for somewhere where I might fit in there wasn't anywhere so I decided I'd try to make my own."
The way the store works is that different dealers rent space in the shop and then sell vintage items from all over. It's a wide variety of items that share a common trait.
"It needs to be at least 25 years old which is the official classification for vintage. So as long as it's 25 years old and not over a hundred, then it belongs here."
You can visit Nostalgia at either 5214 Homberg Drive or their newer location, 1401 McCalla Ave near the Old City. Also check them out at www.nostalgiamarket.com.
