Girl scouts from Japan traveled over 6,000 miles to visit Tennessee. 7-29-14

It's no secret that Oak Ridge has an interesting history. It's a history that can be experienced up close at the Oak Ridge Children's Museum and that's exactly what a group of Girl Scouts from Japan are getting to do.

Oak Ridge is a sister-city to Naka shi Japan. Naka has its own Girl Scouts that have made the trip to East Tennessee.

The hope is that both Japanese and American girls will develop a deeper understanding of cultural differences and similarities of all people. While in town, the scouts will visit the American Museum of Science and Energy, the Friendship Bell and even get a taste of Big Ed's Pizza.
