An automobile parts manufacturer says its expansion project will bring more new jobs to our area than it originally expected.
Huf plans to bring more than 160 jobs to Greene County. That's more than the 100 jobs the Wisconsin-based manufacturer originally announced back in February
.The company plans to add 60 more mechanical jobs, as well as 28 administrative jobs by the end of the expansion.
Greene County leaders hope the project will help bring down the county's 11-percent unemployment rate.
"28% of the people in Greene County work in the manufacturing sector and if we can get the manufacturing sector to recover, and it's starting to do that, and if we can get the help of the local companies, which we are doing, we can get that unemployment rate down," said Tom Ferguson with the Greene County Partnership.
Construction should be finished by Springl, but the county must get $80-thousand dollars needed to expand a water line for the building. The state has already approved some funding, but the county still needs $30-thousand dollars.
