Two manufacturing companies announce expansions that will create about 200 job.

New jobs are coming to Morristown!

Two companies already doing business in the city have announced plans to expand, bringing in about 175 new jobs over the next few years.

OTICS USA, an automotive supplier, will expand its existing plant. The company won a contract with Toyota to build a new engine. The expansion will add about 100 jobs over the next three years.

"The opportunity to expand and grow in the Morristown area is a positive impact for both our company, our Customers and for the community. We appreciate the support of our employees and their families and recognize the Morristown and surrounding commuting area for their support as well," said Charlotte L. Jennelle, general manager & division head, general administration.

"This expansion is much greater than the last 10 years," said Joe Nishimera, general manager, manufacturing division.

"It'll give opportunities for current employees to advance. It'll give new hires the opportunity to come in and get into the compan," added Scott Coffey, assistant general manager, manufacturing division.

"We are delighted to hear about OTICS USA's announcement to expand their facilities and create new jobs in our city. We appreciate their confidence in our community and workforce as they continue to grow. OTICS USA is an excellent corporate citizen, and their strong support of our city is greatly appreciated and we look forward to their continued success," said Morristown Mayor Danny Thomas.

Colgate-Palmolive announced that it will build a new manufacturing plant to make oral care products. The new stand-alone facility will be built near its current Colgate Total toothpaste plant, and bring in about 75 new jobs. Construction will begin this year with plans to be fully operational by the end of next year.

"Hamblen County offers us a talented workforce and excellent access to markets and we appreciate the continued support of the State of Tennessee, Hamblen County, the City of Morristown, and their Industrial Development Board."
