Hamblen County authorities arrested more than 40 people on drug charges Monday.
Two of those arrested include federal firearms charges, while four others will also be charged with TennCare fraud, more commonly known as "doctor shopping". Ten people were arrested on federal drug charges, and several others face indictments for drug-related charges.
As of 4:15 Monday afternoon, deputies had arrested 42 people as part of the round-up.
The sheriff says he hopes the round-up sends a strong message to the community that doctor shopping and the sale of prescription medication will not be tolerated in Hamblen County.
