Several East Tennessee contractors are volunteering their time this week to help build a home for a family in need.

The Lakeway Area Habitat for Humanity in Hamblen County is holding a blitz build. Monday, they teamed up with local contractors to build the structure of the home.

"It just goes a little bit quicker when you've got contractors involved. It's just a great partnership to work with them. We always get volunteers involved for this type of build, too, but it just happens quicker when you've got the professionals with you," said Stephanie Wesson, executive director.

The group plans to finish the house in two weeks.

The program has not chosen a family for the house and they are still taking applications. To find out if you or someone you know is eligible, visit http://www.lakewayareahabitat.org/.
