A 45-year-old Jefferson County man has died after being shot in the head by his father.
The sheriff said Monday that Edward Bullard, Jr, died from his injures after the shooting on Saturday.
His father, Edward Bullard, will be charged with first degree murder.
Investigators said the shooting happened during an argument between the father and son in their home on Dumplin Valley Road.

(WBIR) A Jefferson County man has been charged after he shot his son in the head Saturday morning.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Edward Bullard, 69, shot his son, 45, after an argument around 6:15 a.m.
The shooting took place in their home on the 300 block of East Dumplin Valley Road, according to authorities.
First responders found the son, who has not yet been identified, laying on the floor in their home.
He was flown to U.T. Medical Center. His status has not been released.
Edward Bullard was arrested at the scene and has been charged with aggravated assault.

Jefferson County Sheriff Bud McCoig says Edward Bullard and his son were arguing when the shooting occurred. Officials were alerted to the shooting by a call at 6:15 a.m.
Sheriff McCoig says responders found the son laying on the floor in the home.
He had a gunshot wound to the head.
Lifestar transported the son to UT Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
The sheriff says the father and son moved into the home at the 300 block of East Dumplin Valley Rd. a year ago. He said there is no history of police calls at the home.

According to the sheriff, a call came into the 911 Center at 6:15 a.m. The caller said that there had been a shooting.
When deputies arrived at a home, they found a man they identified as a son laying on the floor in the home.
The man was transported to UT Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Sheriff McCoig says the investigation is continuing.
