(WBIR) Police in Morristown will be turning on speed cameras this week at two new locations in hopes of reducing crashes.

The systems on Highway 25E and Highway 160 are scheduled to be activated on Tuesday. Officers will be sending out warnings for speeding violations caught on camera for two weeks. After that, drivers will be fined $50 for violations.

According to authorities, the cameras will only track vehicles traveling more than 11 miles per hour above the posted speed limit.

Morristown Police Department said other speed cameras throughout the city are scheduled to receive technology upgrades over the next several weeks.
