The man accused of hitting a golf cart, causing an accident that killed a Jefferson City woman, has pleaded guilty.
Authorities in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, said James Bloodworth slammed into the golf cart last July, then left the scene of the accident.
Janice Patterson, 74, was killed in the crash. Her husband and two others were also injured. They were driving in a community where golf cars are legally allowed on the road.
On Monday, Bloodworth pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident involving death and great injury. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
