(WBIR) A Monroe County deputy is accused of beating his girlfriend who works in the Roane County Sheriff's Office.
The girlfriend told authorities Jacob Tyler Summers, 21, of Madisonville was drunk when he punched her several times earlier this month. The couple started fighting while driving home from a night out.
When they arrived at the house, the girlfriend said Summers pushed her on the bed and started choking her. She said he then punched her in the mouth and banged his head into the bathroom mirror, causing minor injuries. He allegedly told her that he would use those injuries as a cover, saying she attacked him as well. He then left the home on Loudon Highway in his own vehicle.
Roane County deputies contacted Monroe County Sheriff's Office about the incident involving its employee. Monroe County deputies took Summers into custody on April 4. Officials charged him with domestic assault and transported him to the Roane County Detention Facility.
