Road work on I-75 in Anderson County and I-40 in Loudon County will affect drivers next week.
(WBIR-Knoxville) Drivers on East Tennessee interstates should be on the lookout for lane closures in a couple of areas next week.
On Tuesday, September 10th and Wednesday, September 11th, TDOT bridge inspectors will examine bridges on I-75 in Anderson County. These inspections will require the closure of one lane of traffic. Flaggers will be present to assist with the flow of traffic.
On Tuesday, September 10th, lane closures will take place on I-75 North from Mile Marker 126 (bridge over Clinch River) to Mile Marker 127 (bridge over Coal Creek).
On Wednesday, September 11th, lane closures will take place on I-75 South from Mile Marker 127 (bridge over Coal Creek) to Mile Marker 126 (bridge over Clinch River)
Work will be performed from 9am to 3pm, weather permitting. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through this area.
Beginning Wednesday, September 11, I-40 East and West at Mile Marker/Exit 364 will be reduced to one lane around the clock as crews begin Phase I of bridge repairs. These lane closures for Phase I repairs are estimated to be in place for 10 days.
Motorist should be alert for lane shifts, workers present and expect potential delays during peak travel hours.
