The Loudon County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a fake police officer that's calling people's homes and asking for money.

According to the sheriff's office, a scammer is calling people's homes and claiming warrants have been issued for their arrests. The caller says he is an officer, asks for money, and says he will arrest them if they do not pay him.

The sheriff's office says it does not call anyone to collect money.

If you get a call or have any information, deputies ask you call (865) 458-9081.
