(WBIR) Some of the biggest names in country music were in East Tennessee this weekend to perform at the Foothills Fall Festival.
The band Rascal Flatts headlined the show Sunday. Hometown musician Janelle Arthur, of American Idol fame, also performed at the festival.
"I've always wanted to come and I have never been able to come and now I'm actually playing it, so it's really great," she said.
Organizers said about 75,000 people went to the Foothills Fall Festival this year. People flooded the streets ready to hear some great music and shop.
The store "Roost" has only been downtown for a few weeks. They said this weekend was definitely different.
"Normally, on a Saturday, we get foot traffic in because we're in downtown Maryville, we get lots of people stopping by, but nothing like it has been this weekend," said Paula Osborn, the owner of Roost.
But, just because business was good this year, didn't necessarily mean it was stronger than festivals past.
One vendor said it seemed fewer people were shopping this year due to the country's economic climate.
Organizers said they've already started to plan for Foothills Fall Festival 2014.
