(WBIR) A former Blount County teacher facing child pornography charges waived his preliminary hearing, which mean his case will go to the grand jury.

John Daniel Lynn, 38, of Alcoa was arrested in October at his home. During a search of his house, officer founds child pornography images and videos downloaded on his computer. Authorities accuse Lynn of downloading and sharing the explicit images.

Lynn has since resigned from his position as a fourth grade teacher and a basketball coach at Prospect Elementary School in Seymour after being suspended without pay.

Lynn also previously worked for Knox County Schools. A spokesperson said he was a fifth grade teacher at Shannondale Elementary School in 2012. His position at the school was eliminated.
