Early Monday morning Blount County Fire Fighters where called to a fire at an apartment complex on Elkmont Circle.

When fire fighters arrived, flames were coming though the roof of the building. Crews where eventually able to get the fire knocked down and extinguished.

Fire fighters on the scene say there were five units damaged in the fire and that it looked like the fire may have started in a middle apartment.

No one was injured in the fire, however a homeowner did have a couple of cats that died in the fire.

The Red Cross was called in to help the 9 people living in those apartments find a place to stay.

Fire investigators are being called in to investigate what started the fire.
