(WBIR) A fire at a Maryville apartment building has claimed the life of one woman, according to officials.
Maryville's Director of Public Safely, Tony Crisp, told 10News that Hope Garner, 55, died of smoke inhalation during the fire at in her apartment Saturday afternoon.
The blaze broke out around 11:45 a.m. at a four-unit apartment complex on Lord Avenue.
Crews battled the smoke and flames, which also fully engulfed a nearby vehicle.
The fire is believed to have been started by a baseboard heater. It has been ruled an accident.
