Employees in the city of Alcoa could soon see a boost in pay.

The city's commissioners approved a pay scale adjustment this week without a tax increase.

Under the new plan, all employees will receive at least $750 more dollars each year. Some could see an increase of up to two and a half percent of their current salary.

The proposal still needs to pass on a second reading. Commissioners will take it up again at a special called meeting next Thursday.
