Blount County's Friends of the Library hosted a book sale Saturday to purchase new books, technology, and bring in cultural opportunities.
(WBIR-Maryville) Blount County books lovers were in heaven on a rainy Saturday.
Blount County's Friends of the Library hosted a book sale to benefit the library.
Bookworms had from over 60,000 hard covers and paperbacks to choose from.
Friends of the Library Board Member Larry Moore told 10News the profits go not only to purchase new books, but also technology and cultural enrichment.
"We recently purchased 20 laptop computers. So now the library has a computer lab. We put on the summer performances of Shakespeare on the lawn, and what we call 'hot summer nights' where we bring in professional performers on Thursday evenings," said Moore.
The book sale is a quarterly event. Visit this website for more information on the Blount County Friends of the Library: http://bcfol.org/
