A Maryville restaurant owner who says guns are welcome on her property is gaining national attention.
Sharma Floyd posted a sign at Shiloh Brew and Chew more than two months ago telling customers they are allowed to carry a weapon inside the establishment.
Floyd says she doesn't own a gun or have a permit, but her customers have a right to conceal a weapon.
She appeared on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning to talk about her decision.
"I thought maybe I could generate more local business because my restaurant was struggling and all I can say that it was the best move I've ever made," said Floyd.
Floyd says she also hoped the sign would help stop thefts. Several items have been stolen from outside the restaurant in the past., including an American flag, decorative whiskey barrels, and hanging flower baskets.
Shiloh Brew and Chew doesn't sell liquor and the restaurant won't serve beer to anyone who is carrying a weapon.
