An Indiana man was flown to UT Medical Center for a serious head injury Monday evening while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Park officials say rangers responded to a call of an injurd hiker at about 5:30. They found Michael Taylor Noblitt, 21, of Carmel, Indiana, who fell about 10 feet from a bank onto a rock while hiking The Sinks trail.
An ambulance took him to a Lifestar landing zone in Townsend before he was flown to UT Medical Center.
Officials said Noblitt was conscious and alert throughout the rescue.
A man was flown to the hospital Monday evening after he injured himself in a fall in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Park officials said they responded to an injured hiker on The Sinks trail. The 21-year-old man fell and injured his head. He was flown to UT Medical Center in serious condition at about 6:45 p.m.
The man's name has not been released yet.
