Authorities say a man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Etowah is a suspect in his girlfriend's death.

Investigators found the body of 40-year-old Kim Moran in a burning home in Robertson County early Sunday morning. An autopsy Wednesday found someone shot and killed her before investigators discovered her body in the burning home.

The investigation spread to Etowah, where authorities found her boyfriend David Greenwood. He was named as a person of interest in the case.

When officers pulled him over Monday night, he backed into them with his car, then got out with a gun in his hand.

Two officers shot Greenwood. He later died at UT Medical Center.

Greenwood is now considered a suspect in the case. Investigators say the investigation will continue into his girlfriend's murder despite his death.

They have not determined what started the fire.
