A former McMinn County deputy has pleaded guilty to official oppression.

Justin Hester, 30, is accused of stealing drugs during traffic stops in 2011.

A TBI investigation found Hester made several undocumented traffic stops and took prescription drugs from the cars. He didn't charge the drivers and also didn't turn the drugs over as evidence.

Investigators say many of the drivers didn't know the drugs were gone until after the traffic stops were over.

Hester resigned in December 2011 and was arrested in February 2012.

On Monday he pleaded guilty to official oppression. He will be sentenced on April 11th.
