Remote Area Medical will host its first free clinic this weekend in Monroe County.
The group will offer medical, dental, and vision care free of charge this weekend on a first come, first served basis at Sequoyah High School. The school is located at 3128 Hwy. 411 in Madisonville.
There are always huge crowds when RAM hosts their free clinics. To handle the large numbers of people, RAM hands out numbers to patients the night before. The parking lot will open at midnight and they will begin handing out numbers for the following day at 3:00 am until they are gone. They will begin registering patients with numbers at 5:30 am. Because of time limitations, patients must choose between dental and vision care, but all can receive general medical service.
RAM also advises patients to bring their own food and beverages and to wear comfortable clothing. You should also be prepared for a cold night while waiting in the parking lot for numbers and to get inside.
The next RAM clinic is scheduled for February 1-2 at the Jacob Building in Knoxville's Chilhowee Park.
