Authorities have identified Darlene Arwood,64, as the woman who was hit by a car that crashed through the Checkered Flag convenience store Tuesday morning.

The driver of the car is Willard Lambert, 82 of Madisonville. There haven't been any charges filed in the accident.

Update 11:15 am:

(WBIR) Crews flew a woman to UT Medical Center after a car drove through a gas station in Madisonville Tuesday morning.

The car crashed into the Checkered Flag convenience store off Highway 411 at Wayman Road just before 8 a.m.

The gas station's manager said the man driving the car said his gas pedal jammed, causing him to crash into the store.

A lot of high school students were inside the gas station when the accident occurred, but none of them were hurt, according to the manager.

The gas station will stay closed until the cleanup is finished.

Monroe County dispatchers said the vehicle crashed into the Checkered Flag convenience store off Highway 411 at Wayman Road, traveling all the way to the store's counter.

Officials haven't confirmed the extent of the injuries. We also don't know if the injured person was in the car or inside the store.
