(WBIR - Knoxville) The Knoxville Veterans Home is one of two Tennessee complexes named among the best in the United States.

A new report from U.S. news & World Report 2014 gave a five-star rating to the Senator Ben Atchley State Veterans Home and the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, using data from more than 16,000 nursing homes around the country.

A Humboldt, Tenn. nursing home was also recognized by the report for its work.

Tennessee VA Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder said the report honors the hard work by the employees and the state.

"Excellence in care, compassion and service is what our Veterans deserve and we are so proud of the continued recognition of all of the Tennessee State Veterans Homes," Grinder said.

Two new veterans homes will also open in the state: construction for one in Montgomery County began in 2013 and should open in early 2015. Another $4 million home in Bradley County is part of Governor Bill Haslam's proposed budget for fiscal year 2013-2014
