(WBIR - Knox County) A busy section of a North Knox County road will be closed for the next 10 days, starting Thursday.
Emory Road will be closed to traffic between Central Avenue Pike and Collier Road starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, November 14 and lasting through Saturday, November 23.
TDOT says about 15 thousand drivers a day use that stretch of road. Powell Elementary School is located just outside the closed section.
During this time, TDOT says crews will construct a fill to tie in the newly aligned roadway section.
TDOT wants to remind motorists to be alert for other temporary lane closures for bridge construction, utility and equipment crossings.
