Happy Holler is getting national attention as a potential historic district.

The state review board voted to recommend Happy Holler in North Knoxville for the National Register of Historic Places. It's a list that recognizes diverse, cultural areas throughout the U.S.

The commission made its recommendation Thursday and will wait to hear the results.

The Mead Marble Quarry and Ross Marble Quarry in Ijams were also up for consideration.
