Some customers were trapped inside the bathroom of a North Knoxville KFC briefly Friday evening after a pick-up truck crashed into the side of the restaurant.
The Knoxville Fire Department said a Ford Ranger crashed into the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Clinton Highway around 7:30 Friday. The truck's bumper was partially embedded in the side of the building when crews arrived.
Firefighters were able to pry open the bathroom door to allow a grandmother and three minors to escape the bathroom. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The restaurant closed for the evening.
No other injuries were reported. No word yet on the cause of the accident.
