(WBIR) A spokesperson with Knox County Schools said all children on board a school bus that hit a horse Friday morning are okay.

The accident happened on Emory Road near the intersection of Dyer Road this morning. Seven students were riding on the bus, but no one was seriously injured. Paramedics checked out one student who said their ankle hurt as a precaution. The child is okay and went to school.

The horse did not survive the crash. The accident shattered the front window and damaged the front bumper. TDOT was able to clear the horse and bus by 9 a.m. Friday.
