Update Sunday 3:45 p.m.:
(WBIR - Knox County) A 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he caused a crash which sent himself, and another driver, to the hospital Saturday evening in Northwest Knoxville.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, Jason Watts was charged with vehicular assault, failure to yield and driving on a revoked license. The vehicular assault charge is because he was driving under the influence and caused serious injury to another party.
KPD said Watts was driving a van west bound on Callahan Drive when he attempted to cross the east bound lanes in order to get on the I-75 South ramp.
When crossing, he crashed into a Ford pickup truck, driven by 48-year-old Daniel Lambert.
According to UT Medical Center, Watts is listed in serious condition and Lambert is listed in fair condition.
