(WBIR) Authorities are looking for three men who tried to rob two people in north Knoxville early Thursday morning.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, two victims were approached by three men as they pulled up to an apartment complex on W. Scott Ave. at 1:57 A.M. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded money, while the other two tried to break into the car.

When the driver of the car started driving off, the suspect shot at the car, hitting it four times. Eventually, the car stalled out just down the road at Beaumont Ave., where the three suspects blocked them in with a stolen Dodge Durango and again demanded money.

When the two people in the car started calling 911, the three suspects fled the scene.

KPD have described the men as:

  • Suspect 1: 25-35 years old, 5'9, medium build with shoulder length dreadlocks
  • Suspect 2: 25-30 years old, 6'0, medium build and clean shaven with a high fade
  • Suspect 3: 25-30 years old, 5'10 and a medium build

Authorities say the incident was not random.
