The Fulton High School softball team opened their season Monday with a ceremony at the recently renovated Christenberry ball fields.

The fields underwent about $30,000 in renovations. The Fulton Booster Club raised enough money to cover more than half the cost with the city contributing only $3,000 of the total budget.

The newly built diamonds are available to more than just the Fulton softball team.

"This is not just a field the Falcons play on. This is a field the baseball teams use and the city leagues as well so they all have appreciated what we have done as well," said Will Gunn, president of Fulton Booster Club.

Athletes aren't the only ones getting to use the fields. Mayor Madeline Rogero will use the ballpark on April 24th for an annual budget address.
